CNI POSTED PRE-TAX PROFIT OF RM6.9 MILLION FOR Q2
28 Aug 2008, SHAH ALAM - CNI Holdings Berhad today announced a pre-tax profit of RM6.9 million and a net profit of RM5.2 million for the second quarter ended 30 June 2008.
Revenue for the reporting quarter was RM47.3 million, which was mainly contributed from the multilevel marketing sales of healthcare and consumer products and contract manufacturing.
Accumulatively, the Group total revenue for the first half of 2008 stood at RM91.9 million with a pre-tax profit of RM14.1 million and net profit of RM10.3 million.
A revenue increase of 6.2% was reported in its multi-level marketing business and overall, a 5.8% increase in revenue for the Group this reporting quarter as compared to Q1 2008.
“The Group has initiated a strategic brand awareness exercise to further strengthen its competitive edge in its consumer products, specifically CNI WaterLife a 7-filter water treatment system. Simultaneously, there will be product upgrading processes and packaging redesigns. We are expecting to introduce a new line of functional coffee soon, to meet with the discerning taste of modern consumers nowadays,” said Mr Sam Cheong ChinTai, Executive Director of CNI Holdings Berhad.
